We would like to congratulate our very own Lucy Watson of year 11 for her success in following her passion for sports and being such an inspiration to us all.
Well done Lucy and keep kicking!
Below is an article from Doncaster Rovers FC:
Belles’ RTC forward Lucy Watson has recently returned from a successful spell away with the England under-17 squad.
Lucy scored two goals in two games for Young Lionesses in their UEFA Women’s Under-17 European Championships first round qualifying tournament in Bosnia and Herzegovina last month as they progressed through to the elite round.
Lucy played and scored in both the 4-0 win over their Group 1 hosts Bosnia and Herzegovina and the 4-1 victory over Belgium three days later to secure progression to the next stage where should they get through that, they will head to Sweden for the final competition.
Following her exploits in Europe, Lucy was invited to head down to Wembley Stadium for the senior Lionesses’ recent record-breaking game against Germany, acting as a ball girl for the match.
RTC centre manager Chantelle Haigh said: “We are extremely proud of Lucy and will continue to support her in her football journey as much as she needs and she continues to be a very positive role model to our younger players.
“Lucy is currently in her second year within the Belles RTC under-16’s squad and already she is looking forward to a very bright future, with her hard work and sheer determination.”
