Holy Trinity is the only 3-16 Catholic and Church of England school in the country, offering a unique opportunity for students to explore their spiritual lives through the Christian faith as expressed in both Catholic and Church of England traditions.
At Holy Trinity, our Christian values and heritage form the foundation of all we do. We believe in the uniqueness of every person as a child of God. Holy Trinity inherits a very good reputation for the care, guidance and support we offer to pupils. This is reflected in our emphasis on the Parable of the Lost Sheep which underpins our commitment to each pupil’s wellbeing and growth, wherever they are on their learning journey.
“If a man has a hundred sheep, but one of the sheep gets lost, he will leave the other ninety-nine sheep on the hill. He will go to look for the lost sheep. And if he finds it, he is happier about that 1 sheep than about the ninety-nine that were never lost. I tell you the truth. In the same way, your Father in heaven does not want any of these little children to be lost.”
We emphasize the values of repentance, forgiveness, and reconciliation, and work to unlock the potential in every pupil by fostering an inclusive and supportive atmosphere. Our policies and practices are rooted in a desire to see all students develop mutual respect. Positive relationships between pupils, staff, and parents form the bedrock of a successful and fulfilling school experience for everyone in our community.
Our vision is that all young people leave Holy Trinity prepared and determined to make a positive impact on the world. This vision is realized through our school ethos, which offers every pupil an encounter with Jesus Christ and Christian faith and practice. Collective Worship plays a vital role in this, providing opportunities for personal and spiritual growth. Worship at Holy Trinity takes various forms, but at its heart is the desire to create opportunities for every member of our community to grow closer to God.
We are immensely proud of the joint Catholic and Church of England nature of our school, supported by denominational chaplains. In addition to daily liturgies, we celebrate special Eucharistic services, including Roman Catholic and Anglican Masses, as well as services throughout the liturgical year—during Christmas, Lent, Easter, and at the close of the school year.
Our philosophy is that gathering for worship nurtures a sense of community and allows us to express and explore our school’s Christian vision and values. These opportunities for collective worship allow pupils to engage deeply with our vision and reflect on the values we hold dear. While we welcome students from all faith backgrounds, we strive to foster an environment where our shared beliefs promote tolerance, understanding, and respect for all, cultivating a deeper love of our neighbours that extends beyond the school and into our homes and wider community.
School Prayer
Father
You send your word to bring us truth
And your spirit to make us holy.
Through them we come to know
The mystery of your life.
Help us to worship you
One God in three persons,
By proclaiming and living our faith in you
We ask you this, Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
One God, true and living, forever and ever
Amen.
