The first ever Holy Trinity badminton singles tournament took place recently. The competition was for Year 8 boys and had 20 entrants. Following a qualifying stage, the last 16 right through to the final was played out on the same day with time limit games. Several of the matches were extremely tight and went to ‘golden point’ including both semi-finals. The final was between Jayden B and Deacon S with pre-tournament favourite Jayden running out a comfortable 16-6 winner. In the play-off for 3rd & 4th place Marshall W beat Robson B, once more on ‘golden point’.
Well done to all those who competed and also to the Year lads who umpired and officiated, all involved received 5 achievement points and Jayden got a winners trophy as can be seen in the picture.
