COVID-19 Emergency provision 22-3-20

22nd March 2020

Dear parents and carers

COVID-19 Emergency provision

Further to my letter dated 20th March, regarding provision in school, I wish to remind you that school is closed to almost all pupils from tomorrow; 23rd March.

This emergency provision that we will have in school from tomorrow is prioritised for the children whose parents’ work is critical to the COVID-19 response and who cannot keep their child safe at home.

We would expect that parents have exhausted all other options before using this emergency provision. We would expect that no parent would choose to send their child to this emergency provision to mix with other children unless they had absolutely no other choice. The more children that we have in school, the greater the risk of spreading the virus to other children and to our staff.

I wish, therefore, to re-iterate that this provision is only offered for children registered at the school who

  • Have an Education Health and Care Plan
  • Who have a social work or have been identified as having a safeguarding need
  • Whose parents’ employment is listed as a key worker. (Please note we will contact employers as evidence is required from your employer that your specific role is necessary for the continuation of this essential public service.)

Please do not send your child to school if you have not completed the Google Form on the link sent out on Friday. The deadline for the completion of the form was 5.00pm on Friday.

Note also that our provision will be under constant review in response to staffing availability, which is likely to change on a daily basis.

Thank you for your continued efforts to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

Yours faithfully

A Dickson

Headteacher
